Design often finds itself called upon to create characters and communicate stories. But there are times when location itself has the power to deliver these. Such is the case with this hotel, part of the Curio Collection by Hilton.
The Trafalgar St James sits in a building once home to Cunard; on Cockspur Street, along which many early twentieth century transatlantic cruise lines had their homes. All of this located at the south-west edge of Trafalgar Square, over which the hotel looks. As it does Nelsons Column. And the National Gallery. And St James’s Park.
With these resources behind us, we’ve been freed to concentrate our design skills on addressing the fundamentals that improve guest experience: comfort, support, convenience, efficiency. And the creation of a rooftop bar with unparalleled views over central London.
